 In
the mid 1997, Daewoo launched 3 new models simultaneously and actually
replaced all its main model lineup. In which Lanos is a supermini class
hatchback, Nubira rivals with small sedans like Toyota Corolla and VW
Golf,
while Leganza competes directly with Ford Mondeo and the like. Among
these
3 cars, Lanos is the worst.
Despite with the help of many european consultants such as Ricardo Consulting Engineering (engine), Delphi (engine management system), GM Powertrain (automatic box) and Italdesign (styling), Lanos still fail to be impressive. Under the
characterless enclosure,
there is a chassis that provides poor handling and excessive body roll.
Besides, below-standard refinement and quality, bad taste interior trim
and so-so cabin space won't help restoring lost ground.
